6 Things I Learned In 2019

It really is about the journey & not the destination

Sometimes we set timelines for ourselves, expecting to achieve specific goals at certain times. When we don’t meet these expectations, we may feel unaccomplished. However, it’s important to realize that we are exactly where we are meant to be, and our journey teaches us invaluable lessons. When we do achieve our goals, we’ll be in a much better space than we initially planned.

Knowledge is power

For centuries, humans have oppressed others by controlling access to knowledge. It’s crucial to remember the importance of education and to never stop learning. Knowledge is constant, so make sure to keep yourself open to new learning experiences.

Be mindful in all aspects of life

Technology has made it easy to go through the motions of life without truly living. It’s important to connect internally, so that you can be present in your external experiences.

Learn your body, mind & soul

Everyone is different, so what works for someone else may not work for you. Learn about your own needs and what works best for you. Your gut often guides you in making decisions on a daily basis.

Listen to your gut

Not only should you listen to your gut when making decisions, but also healing your gut can lead to improvements in your overall health.

Don’t make permanent decisions based on temporary emotions

2019 has been a true test of my internal and emotional strength. I have had to practice what I preach because actions are often easier said than done. I’ve learned to reflect on the choices and decisions I’ve made in my life and choose where I want to be in the future. Happiness is fleeting, so when life tests you, take the time to reflect before reacting out of habit and emotion.
