Setup a Routine

During uncertain times, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed. With our routines disrupted, it’s important to create a new one. Write down a daily routine and try to stick to it, but be flexible with yourself. It’s okay to reevaluate and switch things up or take a day to go with the flow.

Get up & Get Dressed

Get dressed every day, even if you’re at home. It helps create a sense of normalcy and positivity, and it’s important to do things for yourself.

Meditate

Meditation for just 10-20 minutes a day can do wonders for your mind, body, soul, and immune system. Many meditation studios offer virtual classes and there are free resources online to help you get started.

Here Are Some Online Meditations I Have Been Enjoying:

Move Your Body

Moving your body daily can also help boost your mood and positivity, and many gyms and studios offer online classes now. Consider practicing yoga, self-defense, dance, or fitness with online resources. It’s a great time to try something new without the commute to a physical location.

Eat (Whole)some Foods

Focus on improving your health by incorporating more fruits and vegetables into your diet. Look for local CSA programs and farms that offer delivery or pick-up options. You can also freeze fruits and vegetables to keep them fresh longer. Take advantage of your extra time at home to try something new, like learning to cook different recipes, attending webinars, taking online classes, or trying out new hobbies. Keeping your mind active and learning new things is important for personal growth.

Try Something New That You Never Tried Before

Remember to take some time for yourself, especially now when you may have more free time at home. Use this period to try new things and keep your mind active. I’ve been enjoying cooking, attending webinars, taking online classes, and trying out new hobbies like making kombucha, bread, and pasta. It’s important to take a break from the constant stream of news and information, as it can be overwhelming.

Laugh!

Laughter is important for your mental and physical health.

Have Virtual Dates

Find ways to connect with friends and family, have a good laugh, and relax together virtually. Although we can’t meet in person, you can still connect with loved ones virtually, like cooking the same recipe and sharing a meal together online. Checking in with friends and family is essential during these challenging times. Take the opportunity to read the books that you’ve been putting off reading. It’s a great way to unwind and relax.

Start a Gratitude Practice

Practicing gratitude can help maintain a positive mindset. Consider writing down a few things you’re grateful for each morning.

Try an Online Workshop or Class

Explore the many online resources and classes being offered for free. Many businesses and organizations are hosting virtual events and seminars. Take advantage of these opportunities. Don’t let the current situation stop you from having fun.
